Formerly Dive Taveuni, this lovely resort is located on the northern island of Taveuni (The Garden Island), a 90-minute flight from Nadi. The 7 modern bures (and villa) are nestled in beautifully landscaped flower gardens, bordered by white sandy beaches and overlooking the Somosomo Straits. There are no children under 15 at the resort. Honeymooners receive a complimentary sulu and a bottle of champagne on arrival plus a romantic dinner. There is a minimum stay of four nights and the resort has a special Stay 7 nights and Pay 6 nights (valid to 31 march 2005).
Taveuni Island itself has lush rainforests, 140 waterfalls and streams and exceptional diving (fantastic soft coral because of the currents) for experienced and novice divers alike.
The resort doesn’t offer a 'disco-wild-night-life' type of holiday. With around 25 staff members at the resort to care for guests, it has more a 'family' feel. Dining is intimate and charming on The Deck (guests dine together but couples can arrange for a romantic dinner for two with a private waiter and musician). The resort has a good wine cellar with New Zealand and Australian wines.
All bures have king size beds, comfortable indoor and outdoor furniture, air conditioning, fans or natural airflow, unlimited hot water, imported linen, fridges/minibars, hairdryers and tea and coffee facilities. The Deluxe Ocean View Bures overlook the ocean, have easy access to the beach, and feature a large bedroom lounge area, spacious covered decks and beautiful outdoor showers. The Luxury Oceanfront Bures are situated on one side of the island to ensure privacy and have stunning ocean views with both rooms opening onto a spacious covered deck. There is one only Luxury Oceanfront Villa, which has panoramic views of the ocean, and a huge lounge area flowing onto a spacious covered deck with your very own plunge pool. This premium villa also has two private en suite bedrooms with king beds, a large outdoors courtyard shower and an indoor shower with unlimited hot water. Best part with the Luxury Oceanfront Villa - it also comes with its own chef, waiter/waitress and housemaid.
There is a lot you can do when staying here - from the resort you can explore the beautiful Heritage Park to see Bouma Waterfall, take the Lavena Walk (location of the second Blue Lagoon movie), enjoy a natural rock waterslide set in the tropical bush, go bird watching, or tour the island to meet the locals and visit the ruins of an old Catholic mission. The resort also offers “Adam and Eve Picnics” for honeymoon couples wanting a romantic private picnic on their own and there are two professional masseuses on staff.
Activities available free of charge include cycling, kayaking, snorkelling off the beach, pool, library and games (backgammon, chess etc). Activities available for a fee include glass bottom boat coral viewing, game fishing, Lavena Coastal/Waterfall Walk, Bouma Waterfall Walk, West Coast Tour, horseback riding, scuba diving (with Swiss Fiji Divers), snorkelling outer islands and massages.
